Sumter Today: Young baseball and softball athletes head to state tournaments

There will be a lot of anxious parents and coaches this weekend when seven Sumter all-star teams begin play at the Dixie Youth Baseball and Dixie Softball state tournaments.
There are four baseball and three softball teams competing this weekend, and each will play in a double-elimination tournament looking for an opportunity to advance to their respective Dixie World Series.
We caught up with a few teams that were practicing this week at Patriot Park.
