Sumter Today: The South Sumter Farmers Market is back for the season.

There are three major farmers markets that operate each Friday, but only one serves the community at a location in one of the state’s food deserts. With transportation necessary to get to grocery stores from certain neighborhoods, the South Sumter Farmers Market offers fresh produce, food cooked on site and other vendors on Manning Avenue. To help bring healthy living options to the area, representatives from Census 2020 and DHEC were also on hand to offer information.
