Sumter Today: The Sheep are Sheared at Old McCaskill's Farm

Posted
The annual Sheep Shearing on Old McCaskills Farm has become a staple event in the spring. Patrons are invited onto the property to experience a day in the life on a traditional farm. Wool is sheared from about 50 sheep, and families are invited to watch demonstrations from various craftspeople to learn how raw materials are turned into the goods they use in their everyday lives. Red Creek Farm was also on site to give visitors a herding dog demonstration with border collies, sheep, and ducks.
