Posted

The staff and students at Liberty STEAM Charter School are wrapping up their first year in action. On Monday, they capped off their Million Word Challenge, during which every student was tasked with reading a million words from October until the end of May. The school's Instructional Coach, Tonya Peckham, says they reached 99.5% success rate this year. Those that completed the challenge on time were placed into a raffle that included gift-cards, games, and three grand-prize iPads. Sumter Today is presented by the Sumter Opera House, University of South Carolina Sumter, and Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
