On Monday night, American Legion Post 15 held its Annual Public Safety Awards Ceremony. Five individuals within the Sumter community were recognized for their commitment and dedication to service and safety.
These awards included:
Firefighter of the year - Lieutenant Selena Ruth Smith
EMS technician of the year - Lance Corporal Christopher J. Kirven
Detention Officer of the year - Senior Corporal Christopher Bowen
Sheriff's Deputy of the year - Lieutenant Lenell Allen
Police Officer of the year - Officer Montana Fisher
