Sumter Today: The American Legion honors our top public safety officers of the year

After a year of hard and often dangerous work on the front lines of the pandemic, American Legion Post 15 hosted its annual Public Safety Awards ceremony last night.
Six people from Sumter County EMS, sheriff’s office and detention center and the city police and fire departments were names atop their departments, and we were on hand to show you who they were.
