Sumter United Ministries helps those in need year-round, but they go above and beyond for the holidays.
The faith-based emergency services nonprofit held its annual Giving Thanks program this week ahead of Thanksgiving. They get to know their clients throughout the year, and their services are more than a simple handout.
Through the ministry, they’re trying to rebuild lives. With adjustments made for COVID-19, they distributed about 150 Thanksgiving meal boxes to individuals and families in need, and we stopped by to learn more about the program.
