Stash the Trash kicked off a litter pick up program organized by the Sumter Litter Advisory Board, City of Sumter, and Sumter County. They've divided the county into four quadrants and dedicated a month per quadrant, during which they'll involve schools and businesses nearby in their litter pick-up efforts. Quadrant 1 is the project for November. It's the area between U.S. 378 West and U.S. 15 North. The Stash the Trash event had games for kids, equipment for picking up litter, and information on the quadrant schedule.
