Sumter Today: Poster Contest with the Sumter Fire Department

Posted

The first week of October is the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)'s official Fire Prevention Week, but the Sumter Fire Department has extended that to a month-long observance since fire doesn't wait. In September, the department asked for submissions to a poster contest from local schools and senior centers. Earlier this week, the three winning institutions received their Golden Smoke Alarms in recognition of their commitment to fire safety. The winners were Lakewood High School, Alice Drive Middle School, and Cherryvale Community Center.

Sumter Today is presented by the University of South Carolina Sumter, Sumter Tourism, and Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
