Sumter Today: National Night Out with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office

Posted

National Night Out was created in August of 1984 with the goal of strengthening bonds between communities and law enforcement. On the way to his first stop of the night, Maj. Randall Stewart of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office (Sumter, SC) said, "...the best way to do that is to get out and walk, talk, and shake hands, look them in the eye and tell them who we are and ask them how we can improve the relationship." Sumter Today is presented by the University of South Carolina Sumter, Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, and Sumter Tourism.
