Sumter Today: Military Appreciation Picnic on Shaw AFB

Happy Veteran's Day! Recently, Shaw Air Force Base and the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce brought the military appreciation picnic back from its pandemic induced hiatus. Some of Sumter's businesses, restaurants, entertainment options and more were on display for airmen and soldiers. Commander of the 20th Fighter Wing Col Kristoffer Smith says the uncommon patriotism in Sumter's slogan is real, "For decades, Sumter has been a fantastic partner and teammate of Shaw Air Force base, and it's only grown."
