Sumter Today: Liberty STEAM Charter’s first scholars are getting ready for their first year

Liberty STEAM Charter School held two Welcome to Liberty family engagement events this week to engage scholars, their families and administration.
The partnership between families and the school, which is Sumter County’s first tuition-free public charter school, is important because students, or scholars, are going to have high expectations set upon them.
The welcome events were held this week at Morris College, and a total of 145 families, representing about 75 percent of admitted scholars, attended.
