At the Crestwood High School Fine Arts Center, Dr. Penelope Martin-Knox was honored with a portrait unveiling. The piece, created by Robert Nance, will hang in the main office of the Sumter School District alongside previous superintendents. "The advice that I would have is to continue to love the children ... and so whomever steps into the role of superintendent, I ask that they continue to love the children, and to galvanize with our community to give them the foundation that they need, to be successful in life and beyond." -Dr. Martin-Knox
Sumter Today is presented by the Sumter Opera House, University of South Carolina Sumter, and Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
