Sumter Today: District Teacher of the Year, Thomas Slater, Honored at Chestnut Oaks Middle!

Chestnut Oaks Middle School recently held a surprise celebration for Thomas Slater, their director of choral activities, who is this year’s District Teacher of the Year.
With student performances, a showing from Crestwood High School's band and even a special surprise performance from SC State University's marching band, we were on hand to capture all the festivities.
Sumter Today is presented by University of South Carolina Sumter, Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, and Sumter Opera House.
