Sumter Today: Creative Canvas Project

Creative Canvas is a project aimed at beautifying our city and bringing art into the spotlight for all to see. Five large scale murals have been placed across Sumter depicting our iconic landmarks, characters, and culture. Community members gathered at the South Sumter Resource Center on Thursday night to celebrate the completion of the project, recognize the muralists, and recount the history of Sumter shown in the artwork. Abel Jackson and McClellan Douglas were the muralists for the project. Sumter Today is presented by the University of South Carolina Sumter and Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
