Sumter Today: COVID-19 cases surge for multiple days in a row

The state Department of Health and Environmental Control today announced 2,115 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 4 new deaths.

That brings the total number of South Carolinians who have tested positive for the coronavirus to 220,961 and those who have died to 4,253.

Tuesday’s numbers included 35 new cases in Sumter.
