Sumter Today: Auditions for the Gamecocks' Winter Drumline

Indoor percussion (and color guard!) is an offshoot of modern day marching band programs. It involves a show put on by the percussion sections exclusively, usually featuring more specialized costumes and set design than found on the football field. This year, Sumter High School welcomed a new percussion instructor, Lindsay MacLean, for the indoor and outdoor program. We spoke to her about the upcoming season, the fun of coming to a new school, and what benefits the students can take from the marching arts.
