Sumter Today: An annual operation in Sumter brings gift shoeboxes to children in need

One sign that Christmas is approaching in Sumter is the annual Operation Christmas Child gift shoebox fundraiser.

Westside Baptist Church distributes empty shoeboxes to churches and individuals to promote the annual gift campaign, and the boxes are filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items.
