Sumter Today: A nonprofit holds its annual football game to honor the life of a late Sumter High School graduate.

Destin Wise died from injuries he sustained in a car crash in 2015.
His friends started a 7-on-7 football game to honor the life of the football and track and field standout from Sumter High, but the event has grown and taken on a life of its own since. Now, the event is associated with a nonprofit that promotes community involvement and gives out a scholarship. With the event having to be scaled back due to the pandemic, the organizers still wanted to make sure Destin’s memory was honored.
