Sumter Today: Young students celebrate their local heroes

Posted

Tuesday was originally supposed to be Crazy hat Day at Oakland Primary School as part of National Read Across America Week, honoring the birthday and legacy of Theodore Geisel, known as Dr. Suess. Andrew Gillette, school leaders decided to change the theme to Hats off For Heroes and invited students to dress up as their favorite local superheros as first responders and Realtors came to read with them.
