Sumter teen wanted in connection to stabbing

Sumter deputies are investigating a dispute that resulted in the stabbing of a female minor.

On Friday, April 28, deputies responded to a dispute between two 16-year-old females on Webb Avenue. According to Mark Bordeaux, public information officer for the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, one female was stabbed and the other fled the area.

The victim was airlifted to an area hospital where she is in stable condition at this time, Bordeaux said.

The female suspect was identified by witnesses, and the victim and a juvenile petition for attempted murder was obtained. Investigators are currently searching for the suspect.

Little information is available at this time due to the age of the juveniles involved.
