Sumter teen dies in Halloween night shooting

A shooting late after Halloween night left a Sumter teenager dead.

DeQuandre Perry, of Robert Perry Road, died on Nov. 1 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, according to Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker. The coroner said the 18-year-old was the victim of a shooting incident that took place on Utah Circle about 1:26 a.m. Sunday.

Utah Circle is off Boulevard and Mooneyham roads.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning at MUSC in Charleston.

Baker said Perry’s next of kin has been notified and that the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
