As Sumter School District has upcoming transitions on the calendar, it released revised meal distribution and curbside pickup dates and procedures on Tuesday.
Meal distribution and curbside pickup will continue from 9 a.m. to noon.
The highlights include the following:
Today: Meal distribution will include breakfast and lunch for today, Thursday and Friday;
There will be no meal distribution next week, April 5-9, which is the spring break for the district;
Monday, April 12: Students will receive breakfast and lunch for that day and Tuesday, April 13;
Wednesday, April 14: Students will receive meals for that day, Thursday, April 15, Friday, April 16, Monday, April 19, and Tuesday, April 20;
Beginning Wednesday, April 21: Weekly curbside pickup will only be on Wednesdays at four locations from 9 a.m. to noon. Those sites include Pocalla Springs Elementary School, Hillcrest Middle School, Sumter High School and Crestwood High School;
- Meals will continue to be delivered by buses to the various community sites each Wednesday, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
- Only children 18 and under who attend virtual instruction and homeschool students will be eligible to receive meals beginning April 21.
- Students attending five days of face-to-face instruction will receive meals daily at school and will not be eligible to pick up meals each week on Wednesdays.
- Meal cards are required and mandatory to receive meals. Cards with the expiration date older than one week will not be accepted.
