Sumter deputies search for 14-year-old runaway

Update: Ja’Asia Chandler has been located and is safe.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office seeks the public's help in seach of a 14-year-old girl who has ran away a second time.

Ja’Asia Chandler ran away from a family member’s house on Inglewood Drive on the evening of June 4. Her last known location was on Gatewood Street on June 7.

Chandler reportedly ranaway on May 10 as well.

Chandler has a history of mental illness, said Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the sheriff's office. It is unknown if she had been taking her medication at the time she left.

Chandler is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair.
