Sumter Animal Control's Boy is a well-mannered gentleman and a volunteer favorite

Posted

This is Boy. (Yes, his name is Boy.) He was surrendered to animal control after his elderly owners were no longer able to care for him. Boy, a Labrador/hound mix, is around 8 years old and weighs 65 pounds. He has quickly become a volunteer favorite. He's amazing on a leash, and he loves people. Boy is good with other dogs but will need slow introductions due to his age and living as an only dog most of his life. Boy does well in his kennel. A well-mannered gentleman, he would be amazing for a senior owner. He is confused and mourning the loss of his home but always has a wagging tail.

As with all of our adoptable dogs, we do require a spay or neuter agreement, and it is strictly enforced. Proof of spay/neuter after adoption will be required. We have many other adoptable dogs as well as animals who were found and are waiting for their owners to claim them. Visit the Sumter Animal Control website at savingsumterstrays.com or find them on Facebook. Call the adoption coordinator at (803) 774-3232 to set up a meet and greet or email at sumterstrays@gmail.com.
