Summerton man killed in ATV wreck

SUMMERTON – A 54-year-old Summerton man was killed in an ATV wreck on Bill Davis Road shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, April 6.

Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the victim as Jimmy Lee Dow. Blackwell said an autopsy was scheduled for later in the week.

According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway of South Carolina Highway Patrol, Dow was driving a 2007 Can Am ATV west on Bill Davis Road near Bald Eagle Road when he lost control of the ATV and fell onto the roadway. Ridgeway said Dow died at the scene.

Ridgeway said the wreck remains under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol.
