Summerton man killed in 1-vehicle wreck

SUMMERTON — A 55-year-old Summerton man was killed late July 4 in a one-vehicle wreck two miles north of Summerton.
Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the victim as Freddie Lee Wilder.
According to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Wilder was driving a 2006 Nissan sedan east on H.T. Everett Road when the vehicle disregarded a stop sign, ran off the side of Furse Road and overturned.
Tidwell said a passenger in the vehicle was transported to McLeod Health Clarendon.
The wreck is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
