CLARENDON COUNTY - The Harvin Clarendon County Library has joined hands with the Clarendon County Voter Registration and Elections Office to host I Love My County Because … Art Contest.

"Clarendon County Voter Registration and Elections is so excited to partner with Harvin Clarendon County Library in an effort to highlight the talents of our children and expose them to civics at the same time," said Sharmane Anderson, executive director of the Clarendon County Voter Registration and Elections Office. "It is also an opportunity to allow our future to share what they love about our dear county."

Students in grades K through 12 are invited to enter both the local and the National Association of Counties' I Love My County Because ... Art Contest. For a complete list of guidelines (for both local and national contest), visit https://bit.ly/44mqdxN.

The local contest will be held from July 15 until Aug. 15. All local submissions must be turned in to the Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., Manning.

One winner per level (K-4, 5-8, 9-12 grades) will be chosen locally by voter participation. After local decisions on artwork are made, judges will then choose three from each grade level. Winners from each level will be recognized on National Voter Registration Day, Sept. 19, at the local voter registration office. All entries are to be nonpartisan. Winners' artwork will be duplicated and framed for exhibit in the voter registration office, county office and library.
