STEPHEN MCLAURIN LOWDER

Stephen McLaurin Lowder, 57, husband of Darla Osteen Lowder, died on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden.

Born on June 19, 1964, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Clayton Ralph Lowder and Doris Hyers Lowder. Mr. Lowder was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church, where he served as a greeter and on other committees. He owned and operated Steve Lowder Farms in Bishopville.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Stephen McLaurin Lowder Jr. and Jackson Randall Lowder; two grandchildren, Emma Rae Hodge and Aubree Renee Hodge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Courtney Hodge.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Alice Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Jackson, Camp Segars, Scott Spittle, Mike Hunter, Billy Leroux and Perron Cromer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Herlong, Rodney Jordan, David Holzbach and Troy Baird.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
