The 2023 SCGOP Convention, attended by more than a thousand delegates and alternates from throughout South Carolina, was held on Saturday, May 20, at the River Bluff High School Auditorium in Lexington. This convention is held every two years. State officers are elected, and resolutions are presented for approval.
State officers were elected as follows: Chair Drew McKissick was re-elected; first Vice Chair Cindy Risher was re-elected (Clarendon GOP executive committee person); second Vice Chair Kizzie Smalls was re-elected; and third Vice Chair Leighton Gray Smith was re-elected.
Five resolutions were presented and passed.
Seven delegates and eight alternates attended from Clarendon County.
