It has now snowed twice in as many weeks in Sumter, and people from across The Sumter Item's coverage area of Sumter, Lee and Clarendon counties frolicked in the winter landscape.

According to a meteorologist at the National Weather Service's Columbia office, a few reports recorded about 1 inch of snow near Dalzell, with other areas of Sumter County reporting half an inch Saturday. In Lee County, a report about 8 miles northwest of Bishopville recorded 1.5 inches. Clarendon County again received the least amount in the tri-county, with reports of .8 inches in Manning, .7 inches southeast of the city and half an inch of snow about 4 miles southwest of Summerton.

Higher totals accumulated to the north of the area with 2.6 inches in Jefferson and about 3 in Florence.

The Sumter Item asked readers and social media followers to send their photos from both weeks' snow events. More can be found at Facebook.com/theitem.
