LUGOFF - Shirley A. Simons, 68, widow of Archie Carl Simons, died on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia.

Born on April 18, 1952, in Effingham County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Wade Aycock and Lola Mae Hicks Donlon.

Survivors include four children, Jerry Wayne Benenhaley (Alice) of Lady Lake, Florida, Alice Ann Howell (Steven) of Savannah, Georgia, David Ray Benenhaley (Sherrie) of Sumter and Beverly B. LeBlanc (Bob) of Sumter; a grandson of the home, Jerry Benenhaley Jr.; along with 11 other grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Danny Barkley, Donna Donlon Steele, Thomas Donlon Jr., Michael Donlon, Kerri Donlon, Michele Donlon, Kimberly Donlon, Sherry Holcombe and Randy Holcombe; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Aycock; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Jewell.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Brian Magaw officiating. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Benenhaley, David Benenhaley, Jerry Benenhaley Jr., Bob LeBlanc, Steven Howell and Zachary Porter.

Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
