SHELTON B. OLIVER

SUMMERTON - Shelton "Bernie" Bernard Oliver, 46, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at 1218 R. Johnson Road, Manning.

Born April 23, 1964, in the Spring Hill community of Summerton, he was a son of the late Maceo Oliver Sr. and Teola Watson Oliver. He attended Scott's Branch High School in Summerton. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Savior and joined St. Matthew AME Church.

Survivors include five sisters, Theresa (Harry) Pringle of Manning, Eyvonne (James) Jones, Sharon Oliver and Stephanie Oliver, all of Summerton, and Brenda Oliver of Sumter; a brother, Maceo Oliver Jr. of Summerton; three aunts, Mary Wilkins, Rosa Mae James and Hortense O'Dubose; two uncles, Lawrence Ervin Boatwright and Abraham Oliver; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at St. Matthew AME Church, 3772 Moses Dingle Road, Summerton, with the Rev. Dr. J. Arthur McDonald, pastor officiating, assisting, the Rev. Albert Thompson, the Rev. David Lawson and the Rev. Linda Conyers. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery.

The family received friends at the home of his sister Sharon Oliver, 1535 JR & FA Richburg Road, Summerton.
