Sen. Kevin L. Johnson, D-Manning, was presented with his 40-year State Service Pin by Sen. Thomas Alexander, president of the S.C. Senate, this past week. Johnson worked for 30 years with the South Carolina Department of Revenue before retiring in 2011, when he was first elected to the General Assembly. He went back in 2015 to work around his legislative schedule. He also worked part-time during his college years before becoming a full-time employee with the state in 1982. Between Johnson's service with the SCDR and his service in the South Carolina House of Representatives and now the South Carolina Senate, he's been serving the state for 40 years, and he's "still going."
