Funeral services for Roy Lindell Rogers will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at noon at Mt. Olive AME Church, 2738 Woodrow Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. R. L. Brown, pastor/officiating. Interment will follow in Colclough Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the mortuary.
Roy Lindell Rodgers was born on March 11, 1979, to Roy and Carolyn Brisbon Rodgers in Sumter.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Roxesha Rogers; maternal grandparents, Inez Hollman (Hosea Brisbon); paternal grandparents, Dallie (Lillie) Rogers; three uncles, Alexander Brisbol, Timmyie Rogers and Harold Rogers; and one aunt, Haddie Woodall.
He departed this life on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, in Sumter.
He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Roy and Carolyn Brisbon Rogers; two sisters, Yolanda Rogers and Shakali Rogers; two nephews, Kendall Kyleek and Kendall Marguel; four nieces, Kanya, Gania, Jaleah and Journee; seven aunts, Lacresia Chernak, Marie Rodgers, Lillie (Johnny) Johnson, Dianne Pauley (Herayl), Carol (Lincoln) Major, Debra (Harrison) Smith and Essie (Thomas) Julius; two uncles, John (Shirley) Rogers and Jimmy (Linda) Rogers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at 4465 Cotton Acres Road, Sumter.
