Dr. RoLanda Yvette Benbow died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, in Fairfield County.

Born March 6, 1977, in Manning, she was the youngest child of Melvin and Meredith Benbow. She graduated from Manning High School in 1995 and earned a master's degree in elementary education and doctorate of educational leadership from South Carolina State University.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She most recently served as the supervisor for elementary education for the Fairfield County School District.

Survivors besides her parents of Manning include a brother, Reonard Benbow; a nephew, Jalen Benbow; seven aunts, Inez Sharpe, Alphina Benbow, Barbara (Johnny) Levy, Wilma (Preston) Stukes and Elmar Sharpe, all of Manning, Jackqueline (Alphonzo) Sumter of Atlanta and Betty Benbow, both of East Orange, N.J.; three uncles, Leonard (Loretta) Benbow, Herbert (Joann) Sharpe and George Hicks, all of Manning; and seven cousins, Angela Vett Sharpe, Herbert Sharpe Jr., Yolanda Victoria Sharpe, Tonisha Joanne Stukes and Preston Stukes Jr., all of Manning.

Funeral services were held July 31 at Manning Elementary School, 311 W. Boyce St., Manning, with Principal Joe Seibles of Geiger Elementary School serving as eulogist.
