Richardson family's matriarchs, patriarch meet for annual reunion

Posted

The Richardson family comes together in Sumter, annually in the fall, to celebrate the Richardson reunion. Last fall, in 2024, the family celebrated the 52nd-annual reunion, having missed only two past get-togethers because of COVID-19 and a hurricane.

It was noted at last year's reunion that there remain only five "living" family "pillars" (second-line generation) of the late George Edward and Rhoda Andrews Richardson of Sumter. Those five are Rhoda Richardson Hair, Inez Richardson Strong, Bobby Richardson, Ann Richardson Boykin and Hope Richardson Fahey, three of whom still reside in Sumter.

To commemorate the remaining five matriarchs and patriarch of the second-line generation, a photo was taken of the five after this past reunion when all were present for the viewing of Bobby Richardson's life story, "Graceball."
