SUMMERTON - Pyocinese "Cinese" Doughty Anderson, 81, widow of Melvin Anderson, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia.

Born March 10, 1930, in Summerton, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Ferdinand Doughty and Suzannah Wells Doughty. She attended Clarendon County public schools and studied music at Morris College in Sumter. She later relocated to Baltiomore, where she was employed with the Baltimore City Public School System for many years. She was a member of Wayland Baptisst Church and later became a member of Cookleys Community Church, where she served as a trustee and played piano. She was a member of the NAACP.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Lavon Anderson, stepson Melvin Anderson II, and caregiver/niece Osalese Doughty Millard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, Summerton, with the Rev. Dr. William T. Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery.
