FROM STAFF REPORTS

Prisma Health is encouraging residents of Sumter, Richland, Lexington, Greenville, Laurens, Oconee and Pickens counties to participate in the 2019 community health needs assessment survey designed to help improve the overall health and wellness of communities by identifying community needs, the use of local health resources and action needed to address health care delivery in a defined area.

Surveys will be mailed to a sample population in the Upstate and Midlands, and the survey is also available online at www.PrismaHealth.org/CHNA.

This assessment also will include interviews with state and local elected officials, major employers, community members and community organizations that provide health services. Once completed, Prisma Health will work with its partners to analyze the results, determine gaps in services and decide how the hospital system may be able to collaborate to meet high-priority community needs. The project also will help determine where additional resources may be needed or how cost savings may be achieved.
