Possible hostage situation on Spigner Road in Alcolu

ALCOLU – The Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are currently on the scene of a possible hostage situation on Spigner Road, which is located between Plowden Mill Road and Alcolu, approximately three miles north of Manning. 
The situation began to unfold about 1:30 p.m. when deputies with the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of possible shots fired.   
Clarendon County Fire Rescue including EMS have staged vehicles near the scene in case their response is needed.
Spigner Road has been closed to traffic.
