According to Allen Lee, director of Clarendon County Emergency Management, FTC will be moving fiber lines at Second Water Bridge on S.C. 260 beginning at midnight tonight, Nov. 15. This work, which is needed to reroute the line to avoid damage while the bridge is being repaired, will affect landline phones from the Clarendon County Airport to the Santee Dam. The FTC cell tower on Kenwood Road will also be down.
According to FTC, the company is preparing for a downtime of three hours but does not know the actual time that services will be restored. FTC notified Clarendon County Emergency Management at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, of the down time.
911 services may also be affected because of this work, according to Lee.
