PHYNALIA HUFFMAN SWANN

Phynalia "Phyl" Huffman Swann, age 89, of Sumter, went to her heavenly home on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson's.

Born on March 11, 1930, in Hickory, North Carolina, to Claude and Josie Huffman, she was residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the time of her death.

Phyl was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Swann; and a son, Mike Swann; along with both of her parents.

She is survived by a daughter, Glenda "Cookie" LeValley (Wayne); three grandchildren, Lindsay Mackey (Andrew), Rylie LeValley (Kelli) and Ross LeValley; and 12 great-grandchildren, all of Charlotte. She is also survived by two siblings, Dale Huffman of Holly, Michigan, and Marta Strong of Catawba, North Carolina.

Phyl worked at USC Sumter in the business office for many years, and she attended Sumter First Church of God. She was involved in acrylic painting and performed in many plays at the Sumter Little Theatre.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Sumter First Church of God.
