The Lee Academy softball team used a five-run third inning to roll past Orangeburg Prep 11-5 on Friday.
With the game tied at 1-1, the Lady Cavs went off for five runs in the third to take a lead they would never surrender. The scoring was pretty even after that. Lee added a run in the fourth, before each team scored once in the fifth.
OP tried to make a comeback with three runs in the top of the sixth, but Lee came right back with three runs of their own to put the game away.
Madi Motley drove in three runs, going 2-3 with a run scored. Alleigh Brown and Lindsay Hill each added two more RBIs and a hit in the win.
Hill earned the win in the circle, allowing five runs, one of which was unearned, on five hits. She struck out five. Carsyn Hall pitched an 1 1/3 innings in relief, allowing just one hit to close out the win.
