OPHELIA GIBSON

Ophelia Gibson died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born Feb. 19, 1978, in Manning, she was a daughter of Alvin Gibson and Pamela Leneau Gibson. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and was a member of Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church in Manning.

Survivors are her devoted parents, Pamela Gibson of Sumter and Alvin Gibson of Manning; one sister, Theresa Gibson of Sumter; two brothers, Jerry and Tony Gibson, both of Summerton; a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, the Rev. Herman Sr. and Mary Ann Gibson; and maternal grandparents, Claremont and Hattie Leneau.

Services were held Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, Manning, with Pastor Cass Williams, assisting, the Rev. Herman Gibson Jr. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

The family received friends at the home, 540 W. Hampton Ave., Sumter.
