Old McCaskill’s Fall Family Farm Day, other events rescheduled ahead of Hurricane Ian

Due to the probability of rain associated with Hurricane Ian, some events scheduled for Saturday have decided to reschedule.

Sumter Out of the Darkness Suicide Walk
Originally scheduled for Saturday morning, the Suicide Walk was rescheduled to Nov. 5, according to Brooke Braswell, chair for the event. A full day of events and the forecast played a role in this date change.

Old McCaskill’s Fall Family Farm Day
Not wanting to fight with Hurricane Ian’s rain, owner Kathy McCaskill said the farm’s one-day event was postponed to next Saturday, Oct. 8.
“There’s no way we can compete with that,” McCaskill said about the rainfall.
She said her vendors are set for the new date, and she hopes to see Sumter residents spend a day on the farm this fall with the McCaskills.
