Ernest L. Matthews of 1875 N. St. Paul Church Road was charged Monday with forgery for cashing a $286 check that was stolen from a home in the first block of Ideal Circle in Dalzell between 11:59 p.m. May 12 and 5:30 p.m. May 13.
