New Year's Closings: Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021

BANKS - All area banks and credit unions will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.

It is recommended that readers verify the Friday, Dec. 31, New Year's Eve holiday hours of their particular financial institution.

GOVERNMENT - The following will be closed Friday, Dec. 31: federal government offices, City of Sumter offices, Sumter County offices, City of Manning offices, Lee County offices and City of Bishopville offices.

The U.S. Postal Service will be closed Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.

South Carolina state government offices and Clarendon County offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.

SCHOOLS - The following will be closed through Friday, Dec. 31: Thomas Sumter Academy, Laurence Manning Academy, Clarendon Hall, Sumter County School District, Clarendon School Districts 2 and 4 and Liberty STEAM Charter School.

Wilson Hall and Holy Angels Academy will be closed through Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.

Sumter Christian School, Lee County Public Schools and Lee Academy will be closed through Friday, Dec. 31, and will observe an in-service/workday on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. School will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.

UTILITIES - Black River Electric Coop. and FTC will be closed Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.

OTHER - Clemson Extension Service will be closed through Thursday, Dec. 30, and on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.

The Sumter County Library will be closed Friday, Dec. 31.

The Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce will be closed through Friday, Dec. 31.

Harvin Clarendon County Library will be closed Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, and Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.

The Sumter Item will be closed Friday, Dec. 31.
