Morris College was recently awarded scholarship funds from the United Negro College Fund and Quillin-Hastings Scholarship for the fall 2020 semester. The funds totaling $198,455 will be used to support one-time, non-renewable, need-based scholarships of up to $5,000 for both new and returning students.

"We are extremely grateful to UNCF and the Quillin-Hastings Scholarship. Our students are our highest priority, and these funds will benefit them greatly as they pursue their education at the college," said Dr. Leroy Staggers, president of Morris College.

Morris College is one of the 37 member institutions of UNCF. Funds are derived from grantor-provided estates, endowments, donations and the Quillin-Hastings grant to UNCF. Students must meet minimum criteria to become eligible.

The Quillin-Hastings Scholarship fund was established by Netflix co-founder, chair and CEO Reed Hastings and his wife, philanthropist Patty Quillin. The couple has continuously supported historically Black colleges and universities and UNCF.
