Three teenagers are being petitioned to family court after reportedly terrorizing turkeys and vandalizing land using four-wheelers and a motorcycle.

Sumter County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a county residence to investigate a civil dispute. According to Mark Bordeaux, public information officer for the sheriff's office, after the landowner asked the teenagers to leave the property, he discovered the doors of the turkey houses were open with tracks from an ATV and a motorcycle leading inside. Once inside, he discovered more than 200 dead turkeys that appeared to have trampled each other out of fear, Bordeaux said. Deputies also found crops to have been damaged by the teenagers.

After being read their Miranda Rights, the teens admitted they drove vehicles on the property and inside the turkey house, Bordeaux said.

The teens will be petitioned to family court.
