UPDATE: Missing 3-year-old found alive, unharmed at Poinsett State Park

A 3-year-old who went missing during her family's camping trip in Poinsett State Park has been found. 

According to Maj. Randall Stewart, multiple agencies searched well into the night after Ruby Heider was reported missing around 7:30 p.m. Friday. She was found alive and unharmed Saturday morning around 11 a.m.

 
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Sumter Police Department, Poinsett State Park Rangers, DNR and SLED assisted in the search. 
 
Prior to the child being found, the sheriff’s office invited volunteers from the public to stand by for assistance in the search at the Wedgefield Baptist Church, 6220 Wedgefield Road.
